The company employs 40 experts from various fields working in a hybrid model.

We are looking for a Tourism Sector Specialist for the New Nordic project in the Interreg – Central Baltic Programme – are you our new colleague?

The project aims to reach high-profile international customers and promote the international sales of New Nordic products through tour operators and online travel agencies (OTAs). Based on market research, two of the most promising long haul target markets, the USA and Japan, have been selected.

The name “New Nordic” refers to intriguing new destinations in Northern Europe that are still largely unknown to international travelers, and to the opportunity to diversify tourism offerings in the Baltic Sea region. The project’s main focus is on reaching target groups and implementing direct sales activities, such as trade fairs and sales events. In addition, familiarization trips (FAM trips) and media visits will be organized.

As a result of the project, new target groups will be reached in the selected markets and new tourism business will be generated. In addition, attractive marketing content about the destinations will be produced and made accessible to the target audiences.

Tourism Sector Specialist

You will be responsible for the above-described project activities in the Mikkeli region and participate in the joint activities of the project team. You have solid experience in international tourism marketing and sales promotion, as well as knowledge of the USA and Japanese markets. You will act as a host for FAM trips, media visits, and influencer visits to the region and will be responsible for their planning and follow-up. You will participate in agreed sales promotion events in the target markets and in the planning and implementation of joint marketing campaigns.

The working time of the Tourism Sector Specialist is 50% throughout the entire project duration.

You will succeed in this role if you have experience in international tourism marketing and project work, are able to collaborate effectively, and have a strong ability to understand broader concepts and strategic perspectives. You need good organizational skills and up-to-date digital working skills. The working language of the project is English. Fluency in English is essential.

We value a proactive approach and a hands-on attitude. Familiarity with the Saimaa tourism region is considered an advantage, as is prior knowledge of Interreg funding.

The position is part of our tourism team. In your daily work, you will be supported not only by your own team but also by the expertise and experience of the entire organization.

We offer a varied role at the business interface and the support of an energetic and development-oriented work community. Our employee benefits include recreational and lunch benefits, phone benefit, bicycle benefit, and comprehensive insurance coverage both during work and leisure time. We are committed to systematically developing employee satisfaction and wellbeing.

The position will begin as agreed and will end when the New Nordic project concludes on 30 April 2028. A four-month probationary period will apply. Salary will be determined based on education, work experience, and job responsibilities.
