Through pilots and demonstrations, it strengthens competitiveness, advances the green transition and creates new opportunities for sustainable business.
Sharing Economy in Mikkeli – Demonstrations and Investment project supports the sustainable growth and renewal of small and medium-sized enterprises by promoting the transition towards innovative circular and sharing economy business models and providing practical solutions for low-carbon and resource-efficient consumption. The project develops service design and other tools to support service-based and sustainable business development. In collaboration with companies and other organisations, the project implements concrete demonstrations, operational models, and product concepts that advance the sharing and circular economy as well as low-carbon solutions, while removing practical barriers to adopting sharing economy practices. The demonstrations will result in scalable case examples, new sustainable service models, guidance materials, and customer journeys that can be used by companies and other stakeholders.
The project promotes smart material management, digital transformation, and the competitiveness of small and medium-sized enterprises while also strengthening broader sustainability goals such as equality and social sustainability. In addition, the project supports research, development, and innovation (RDI) activities related to the circular economy.
