JATKOON – Strengthening business continuity

Finland and South Savo need job-creating companies to help address the region’s population decline. To preserve jobs and support business growth, it is essential to ensure continued and easier access to support for ownership transitions. JATKOON -project supports the continuity and growth of microenterprises, established approximately 10–20 years ago (employing 2–9 people), particularly through ownership transitions. The project offers diverse advisory services, develops tools, and strengthens collaboration networks to facilitate smoother ownership changes and transition processes.

  1. Srengthening the Preconditions for Business Continuity in Small Enterprises that Provide Employment

We will launch measures targeted at small businesses to encourage them to review the continuity of their operations. The aim is to improve companies’ readiness to develop their activities toward ownership transfer. Free advisory services are available for those considering giving up their business.

  2. New Tools and Practical Solutions to Promote Business Continuity
We will develop various tools for the region to facilitate ownership transfers. Advisory services and support will be provided to advance the business continuity process.

Entrepreneurs will be directed to experts when necessary.

We will clarify the ownership transfer advisory process for customers.

  3. Innovative Ways to Connect Sellers, Successors, and Stakeholders
Companies and individuals will be offered new types of events, marketing channels, and recruitment tools.
If desired, the outgoing owner can publish a free sales announcement on the MikseiMikkeli and Itä-Savon Uusyrityskeskus websites.
  4. Building an Ownership Transfer Service Voucher Model for the Region
We will compare existing service voucher models and identify best practices. Based on these, we will design a model that can be implemented in the region. The service voucher model for ownership transfers would streamline service provision, increase freedom of choice, and help manage costs.
  5. Strengthening the Expertise of the Ownership Transfer Service Network
We will enhance ownership transfer expertise within municipal business services, other low-threshold advisory organizations, and among companies’ financial management partners.

The goal is also to increase awareness and use of ownership transfer tools so that they serve both businesses and expert networks as effectively as possible and become an integral part of regional business advisory services.

“Together for smoother ownership transitions and a stronger future!”
