The project also increases employers’ awareness and readiness to meet and employ international professionals.
In the Mikkeli region, the availability of workforce is a critical issue. Over the next ten years, more than 40% of the current workforce will retire. Attracting international talent and new residents to settle in the area is essential for the region’s vitality and competitiveness.
The project develops service models and new ways of operating through network collaboration, and as a result of the project’s work, an International House Mikkeli will be established in the area. From IH, employers will in the future get help with recruiting international talent, and international professionals will receive support and guidance for their own situations. The project is a group project, with the City of Mikkeli as the main implementer and XAMK, Esedu, and Miksei as sub-implementers.
