South Savo Goes Global

South Savo Goes Global-project by Miksei Mikkeli Development Ltd supports the growth and internationalization of SMEs by helping companies to find opportunities and grow their business in export markets.

The export and internationalization of companies plays a central role in the development of regions and their vitality. Export-oriented companies are more likely to hire new people and thereby also generate more tax revenue for the region. In the project, companies from South Savo are supported to start exporting, to increase the export volume and develop their  export capabilities to support further the expansion of their business to new markets. The project works closely with industry-specific business clusters and development organizations related to export promotion, such as the Team Finland network.

Project supports the export growth targets of companies by introducing practical business opportunities in export markets,  assisting in utilizing leads by organising b-to-b meetings and helping companies to find concrete customers, partners and resellers in the export markets. Project organises show-how visits to South Savo showcasing local expertise as well as market visits to relevant exhibitions and events of interest. Company specific work available in the project can be utilzed to further develop export strategies and conduct market specific work for a company.

The project is implemented as a provincial project in cooperation between the regions of Mikkeli, Savonlinna and Pieksämäki, and it also has a supra-provincial dimension, especially in Eastern Finland. The project brings together the province’s key organizations promoting export for concrete cooperation and sharing best practises among the stakeholders.
